BTS’ Jin has been a driving force behind maintaining the original vision of Netflix’s Kian’s Bizarre B&B, ensuring that the show remains as unconventional and challenging as intended. The variety program, which features Jin alongside webtoon artist Kian84 and actress Ji Ye-eun, transforms a guesthouse on Ulleungdo Island into an unpredictable hospitality experiment.
During a press event, Jin emphasized his commitment to keeping the show’s unique and sometimes inconvenient aspects intact, arguing against modifications that would dilute its essence. The guesthouse includes features like outdoor beds and a fire pole connecting floors, designed to foster interaction and create lasting memories. Kian84 himself admitted that managing the guesthouse was so demanding that he broke down under the pressure, but Jin remained composed, providing leadership and stability.
Jin’s military background played a crucial role in his ability to handle the challenges of the show, with Kian84 praising his resilience and charisma. Fans have also admired Jin’s levelheadedness, noting that while others struggled, he remained a pillar of strength.
The show premiered on April 8, 2025, with three episodes airing each week for three weeks. With Jin’s unwavering dedication and Kian84’s imaginative vision, Kian’s Bizarre B&B promises to be a standout in Netflix’s lineup.

When asked about the intentionally unconventional design of the guesthouse, Kian84 explained that he aimed to create a truly memorable experience for guests.
“If you stay in a traditionally comfortable place, you’ll enjoy it, but the memories may not be particularly strong,” he shared. “I wanted to design a space that encourages guests to engage more with one another, fostering meaningful connections and lasting impressions.”
He highlighted the fire pole as the sole connection between the first and second floors, emphasizing that it was deliberately included to promote teamwork. Guests and staff would need to support each other in navigating the space, reinforcing a sense of cooperation.
“My vision for the B&B was something between a lodge and a military barracks,” he added, underscoring the idea that shared challenges could bring people closer together.
Kian84 admitted that managing and living in the B&B for 10 straight days during filming was so mentally and physically exhausting that it brought him to tears at one point.
“I crumbled under the overwhelming responsibility of running the house after just two days,” he candidly shared. However, he credited Jin for helping him regain his composure and move forward.
Jin, having extensive experience in television, was well aware of the physically demanding yet unpredictable nature of the show. “I’ve been part of many programs, so I knew this concept would be challenging, but also fascinating and full of chaos,” he said.
His decision to join the cast was largely driven by his curiosity about Kian84.
“Out of nowhere, my YouTube algorithm kept showing me Kian-related content, and I naturally found myself intrigued by him,” Jin explained. “I wanted to learn more about him.”
Laughing, he recalled the quirky habits that piqued his interest. “I was curious—does he really carry his spoon or toothbrush in his pocket? Does he actually lie down immediately after finishing a meal? And yes, he was exactly like that.”
The variety show is helmed by the production team behind the hit 2017-2018 reality travel program Hyori’s Homestay.
Producer Jung Hyo-min explained the long gap between similar productions, emphasizing the host’s central role in a lodge-based reality show. “The host’s charm and uniqueness must be the focal point of the show. Before attempting this format again, we had to be certain that audiences would find the host compelling enough to invest their attention.”
